High jump is unlike any other field event. It requires precision, skill, and explosiveness all at the same time. When training as a jumper you have 3 crucial points to cover. First and probably the most important is plyometrics, lower body force production is the base of all jumps in Track and Field, plain and simple; you need to be able to jump high. Next are strong legs; squats, step-ups, lunges, building pure strength in the legs will give you the ability to explode over a bar. Last we have proprioception, the body's ability to realize where they are in space, i.e. your body awareness going over the bar. Training proprioception requires more balance training as well as being able to adapt to your environment. This program is designed to apply all 3 of these points and develop the best high jumper possible.
